Donate now to support Bold Nebraska's efforts on the ground in Nebraska to stop the Keystone XL pipeline, and protect our land, water and climate.
Bold is supporting and helping organize new landowners in the path of Keystone XL in their legal challenges to eminent domain for private gain, and the Public Service Commission's approval of the "mainline alternative" route on Nov. 20, 2017.
Bold is also a plaintiff in the federal lawsuit challenging President Trump's unlawful approval of a federal permit for Keystone XL, which a judge ruled on Nov. 22 will move forward to oral arguments.
Bold's arguments against Keystone XL filed with the Public Service Commission:
- Keystone XL isn't needed, and therefore is not in the public interest.
- TransCanada is a foreign corporation using eminent domain for private gain.
- Keystone XL is all liability for Nebraska.
- Water is Nebraska's most valuable resource.
Our costs of fighting Keystone XL in 2017 included hiring the attorneys and experts for the landowners who refused to sell their land to TransCanada to represent us at the Public Service Commission intervenor hearings, and in the ongoing federal lawsuit, and our on-the-ground organizing for events like NoKXL Canvassing, the March to Give Keystone XL the Boot, and actions on important local issues like renewable energy in the State Legislature.
In 2018 and beyond, Bold needs your continued support for ongoing fights in the courts, and our on-the-ground organizing of Keystone XL landowners and Pipeline Fighters for Public Service Commission and other agency hearings, and the rallies and other Bold creative actions geared towards growing our unlikely alliance dedicated to stopping the pipeline.
